Montgomery Fire/Rescue Responds to Residential Fire on Essex Place
MONTGOMERY, Ala., Jan. 26, 2026 — On Jan. 25, 2026, at approximately 10:01 p.m., Montgomery Fire/Rescue units responded to a structure fire at 2600 block of Essex Place. Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke and flames emanating from the rear and center of a single-story residential structure.
Firefighters from Engine 9, Engine 12, Truck 43, Rescue 98, and Car 33 initiated an aggressive attack, extinguishing the fire from both the rear and front entrances. A primary search confirmed no occupants were inside the residence. Neighbors indicated that the occupants’ vehicles were not present at the time.
Alabama Power arrived on scene to disconnect electricity to the structure. The Division of Investigation is currently examining the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported during the incident.
