MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A portion of Coliseum Boulevard will close to through traffic beginning at approximately 9 a.m. Friday, August 28, as crews conduct emergency repairs to a sewer line.
The closure will affect Coliseum Boulevard between Biltmore Avenue and Federal Drive. Barricades and signage will be installed, and motorists will be directed along a designated detour route while repairs are underway.
Due to the urgent nature of the repairs, the contractor will continue working until the work is complete. Crews will work to reopen the roadway as quickly as practical, and the closure is not expected to last longer than three days.
Motorists traveling through the area should anticipate delays, allow additional travel time and follow all posted detour signs and traffic-control measures.
The City of Montgomery and the Montgomery Water Works and Sanitary Sewer Board ask motorists to use caution around the work zone and thank residents and drivers for their patience while these emergency repairs are completed.
