Summer Second Chance Job Fair

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is hosting its third Second Chance Job Fair. While the job fair is open to everyone, it is aimed at connecting ex-offenders with businesses who are willing to give them a fresh start. The Second Chance Job Fair will take place Tuesday, June 28, at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. We are expecting 40+ businesses and resource providers. The previous job fairs, held in the summer and fall of 2021, were so successful that our Office has made this initiative a bi-annual event.

When it comes to people with criminal convictions, the dignity of work is
an important part of rehabilitation. However, having a criminal background can
often make it difficult for ex-offenders to get back into the workforce. Obtaining a
job is an important factor in staying out of trouble and keeping recidivism (re-
offending) rates low. Finding a job can help ex-offenders begin a new life, support
their families, and become successful, contributing members of their communities.

Over 40 employers and resource providers, including the ABC Board,
Wind Creek Casino, Coco Cola Bottling, ACME Brick Company, Fras-le, Golden
Corral and Wayne Farms. Representatives from the Montgomery County Circuit
Clerk’s Office and Legal Services Alabama will also be on hand to walk
qualifying attendees through the record expungement process.
