Children’s Policy Council (Montgomery, AL): The Montgomery County Children’s Policy Council, in support of the Alabama Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, will be sponsoring a Health and Literacy Fair on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 9 am to 1:00 pm at Union Station, 300 Water Street Montgomery, Al 36104. Alabama’s Campaign for Grade-Level Reading goal is to have every child reading on grade level by the end of third grade. It is our belief that for children to get optimal benefits from educational instruction, they need to be healthy. The activities include health screenings/exams, literacy activities, community resource information, bouncy houses, giant games, and free food.
This creative and educational event allows parents and family members to be informed of health issues that may impede their children’s learning ability, and it will provide an opportunity for fair visitors to engage with community agencies that provide services to children and families. This event will be an educational and fun event for families and others in the community.
