MONTGOMERY – The City of Montgomery will host a kick-off party with food trucks (including FREE FOOD), live music, cooking demonstrations, Zumba, dancing and more to celebrate the beginning of a new health and wellness campaign called the Central Alabama Neighborhood Health Initiative.
This campaign seeks to improve health literacy and outcomes in central Alabama through a partnership made possible by the City of Montgomery’s receipt of a $3.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services – Office of Minority Health.

When: July 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Tuskegee University Urban Agriculture Innovation Center, 595 Grady Street, Montgomery, AL 36108.
This family-friendly event will offer activities for all ages to enjoy, including FREE food from local food trucks, music and plenty of other vendors. Programming will also include:
- Opportunities to donate to the LifeSouth Bloodmobile
- COVID-19 testing
- Licensed medical professionals onsite
- Library card registration
- Tours the Agriculture Innovation Center
- Cooking demonstrations
- Exercise demonstrations and yoga
- Educational segments from local healthcare organizations
